This clinic in Shiga Prefecture offers highly precise dental care using a microscope, a service that is extremely rare in the area.

We use a microscope not only for root canal treatment, but also for cavity treatment, periodontal disease treatment, and regular checkups.

自費専門歯科医院のため、保険治療を受けることができず、医療費が高額になりやすい。

その反面、患者さんの1回あたりの治療時間を長く取るため、保険治療に比べて1回で治療が進みやすい。

また保険治療に比べて長持ちしやすく、審美性も高い。

As a private dental clinic, we cannot offer insurance-covered treatments, which can result in higher medical costs.

On the other hand, because we allocate more time for each patient's treatment, treatment tends to progress more quickly in a single visit compared to insurance-covered treatments.

Furthermore, the results tend to last longer and have higher aesthetic appeal compared to insurance-covered treatments.

歯科治療は歯の総合的な知識・技術・経験が必要になります。

一般の方はご存知ないかもしれませんが、大学を卒業したての先生でも歯科治療はなんでもできると思っているかもしれません。

しかし、麻酔1つとってもまともにすることはできません。

入れ歯を作って適切に調整なんてことはほぼ不可能です。

例えば虫歯治療1つを例にとってみます。

虫歯を正しく発見できるか、虫歯を健康な歯を削らず完璧に除去できるか、虫歯の大きさや場所、年齢や性別を考慮して適切な詰め物や被せ物を選べるか、適切な処理をして装着できるか、かみ合わせを適切に調整できるか、虫歯になった原因を理解し、再発しないように指導できるか、など多くのところを見極めて処置することが必要です。

これらのことは大学では専門的に教えてもらうことはできず、日本の歯科大学では国家試験に出てくるような最小限の知識しか学ぶことができないのが現状です。

そして患者さんにより良い歯科治療を行うには、大学卒業後、どれだけ自分の身銭と時間を削って勉強・練習・振り返りを続けられるかどうか、患者さんの治療予後を注意深く観察して検証を続けられるかで決まります。

Dental treatment requires comprehensive knowledge, skills, and experience in all aspects of dentistry.

While the general public may not realize it, even dentists fresh out of university might think they can perform any dental treatment.

However, even something as simple as administering anesthesia properly is difficult for them. Creating and properly adjusting dentures is virtually impossible.

For example, let's consider treating a cavity.

It requires assessing many factors: correctly detecting cavities, completely removing them without drilling healthy tooth structure, selecting appropriate fillings or crowns considering the size, location, age, and gender of the cavity, properly treating and fitting them, properly adjusting the bite, understanding the cause of the cavity, and providing guidance to prevent recurrence. These are things that are not taught in detail at university; currently, Japanese dental universities only teach the minimum knowledge required for the national examination.

Furthermore, providing better dental treatment to patients depends on how much time and money a dentist invests in studying, practicing, and reflecting on their work after graduation, and how carefully they observe and analyze the prognosis of their patients' treatments.
